Michelle & Jon – Wethele Manor

Michelle and Jon’s wedding saw me back at the lovely Warwickshire wedding venue of Wethele Manor, just outside Leamington Spa. It’s the perfect venue for a summer wedding when the sun is shining… and the sun shone all day long!

I started the day by arriving in the morning at Wethele Manor, where Michelle was getting ready with her bridesmaids, her mum and the mother of the groom, in the purpose built chalets next to a pond surrounded by trees. I got there just in time to see Michelle being given a massive hug by her very smiley Nan – a great start to the day! After getting shots of Michelle getting ready, I took a few bridal portraits before heading off to the church ready for her arrival.

The ceremony was held just down the road at Saint Mary’s Church in Cubbington; a lovely little church where I shot my first ever wedding a fair few years ago now. After the ceremony, confetti was thrown and then everybody headed back to Wethele Manor to enjoy drinks and canapes on this boiling hot summer’s afternoon. We had plenty of time to shoot the group shots, a few photos of Michelle and Jon together and for them to have a drink and a good chat to friends and family in the beautiful gardens.

Then it was time for the wedding breakfast followed by the speeches. I had a feeling the speeches would be good and they delivered on that and more. There were a number of different speeches that had everybody laughing and the atmosphere was amazing! Not long after the speeches, as the sun was starting to go down, we took the opportunity to make the most of the light and take some lovely couple shots. I love doing the bride and groom portraits at this time as the light is just incredible!

Shortly afterwards it was time to cut the cake before Michelle and Jon had their first dance… followed by a father and daughter dance – Michelle’s dad had some great moves on the dance floor! We stayed to capture friends and family dancing and having a good time before leaving them to party.
