The West Mill Wedding Photography – Jess & Gary

We've just taken a look and wow, the photos are absolutely amazing, thank you so much!!

Jess & Gary

I’ve done a fair amount of The West Mill wedding photography over the last few years as a second shooter but Jess and Gary’s wedding was my first solo booking here. From the moment they booked me, I couldn’t wait for their wedding day to come along!

The West Mill has a really cool industrial feel to it. It was an old cotton spinning mill that’s been converted into a wedding venue. The result being a really unique place to have your wedding that offers something different from the standard hotel wedding venue. It’s such a fun place to shoot a wedding and Jess and Gary clearly had an incredible day!

Here are some of my favourite images from their day…

Industrial Wedding Venues

Industrial wedding venues have become more and more popular over recent years. Couples are looking for unique locations to host their big day. These venues are often former factories or warehouses, that have been converted to use for weddings. They offer unique features such as exposed brickwork, high ceilings, and metal beams. This type of venue can provide a blank canvas for couples to create their own personalised look or just be used as the are – as they look great as they are!

Weddings at The West Mill

The West Mill is a historic building located in Darley Abbey, a suburb of Derby. It was originally built in 1795 as a cotton spinning mill and has since been converted into a unique space for weddings. This stunning industrial wedding venue can accommodate up to 160 guests. The venue is set over 4 floors, including a ceremony floor, a drinks reception floor, a floor for the wedding breakfast, and a floor with a bar and dance floor. It’s a popular location for couples looking for a unique and historic setting for their wedding.

Derbyshire provides such a picturesque backdrop for wedding photography, with its stunning countryside, rolling hills, and quaint villages. From capturing romantic couple moments in countryside settings to dramatic, cinematic shots in and around historic venues, photographing weddings in Derbyshire can provide so many opportunities to get creative.
