I absolutely love Cotswolds wedding photography! The Cotswolds has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty and it’s easy to see why with it’s stunning rolling hills through countryside and the distinctive yellow Cotswold stone buildings steeped in history. There are so many great wedding venues too! I’ve probably only shot at a small fraction of them so far but the ones I have shot at have definitely won me over. No wonder so many couples choose to get married in this beautiful part of the country. Each wedding I’ve shot there has been so relaxed and fun which is just the type of wedding I love.
Cotswolds Wedding Venues
Manor by the Lake
Manor by the Lake is an award winning Cotswolds wedding venue located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Although it’s not too far from the town, once there it feels like you’re in the middle of the countryside. The building itself is a stunning Victorian manor house with fantastic spaces for both outdoor and indoor ceremonies. The gardens are stunning, ideal for an outdoors drinks reception and there are photo opportunities everywhere. The ballroom is a great space for the evening party, it’s covered in pretty fairy lights and allows for a big dance floor. They have rooms available in the manor house for guests to stay over and the bridal suit is perfect for getting ready in. Then there’s the Rock Bar! Complete with table football, a pool table and a duke box – it’s an amazing place for the guys to get ready! Love this venue!
Cripps Barn
This incredible wedding venue is absolutely one of my favourites! Cripps Barn is an amazing 18th century Cotswold stone barn in Bibury, Gloucestershire. Cripps have a fair few venues throughout the country now but this is was their first one, and possibly my favourite. I’ve also shot at Stone Barn near Cheltenham, and Shustoke Barn in Warwickshire many times. They all have such a great feel to them with candles and fairy lights throughout these beautifully converted barns. At Cripps Barn, they cook the meat for your wedding breakfast over open flamed barbecues, they have fire pits to toast marshmallows in the evening, and they have plenty of outdoor and indoor space so if the worst does happen with the weather, there’s still plenty of room. An amazing Cotswold wedding venue!
Berry Farm
If you’re looking to have an outside countryside wedding where you can have a tipi, then Berry Farm is perfect! Located on the outskirts of South Cerney, near Cirencester in Gloucestershire, this Cotswolds wedding venue offers plenty of outdoor space and rustic charm. You can fit a huge tipi or marquee there for your wedding breakfast and evening party. Berry Farm is great for a relaxed outdoor wedding reception with a covered but open sided barn as an additional space. There are also plenty of spots for some beautiful couple photos without you having to go far away from your guests for long.
Blackwell Grange
Set in the south Warwickshire countryside, Blackwell Grange is a stunning barn venue, perfect for a relaxed countryside wedding. They have a beautifully restored thatched barn for the ceremonies and another stunning barn for the wedding breakfast and evening party! If you’re after plenty of outdoor space to enjoy a drink or two and play some lawn games during your drinks reception then Blackwell Grange is ideal. It’s surrounded by beautiful fields and if the weather is playing ball, you have an incredible view of the sunset.
Cider Mill Barns
Set on the border of Warwickshire and the Cotswolds, Cider Mill Barns is a beautiful, recently converted barn wedding venue. They have options to have your ceremony both indoors and outdoors and the whole venue has clearly been well thought out in terms of light – they have beautiful big windows everywhere(for a photographer, this is very exciting)! It’s surrounded by lovely fields which are perfect for a few couple photos around sunset. They also have accommodation on site which makes it all so much easier when it comes to the end of the night. Talking of the end of the night, the space for the band and evening partying is awesome – and importantly, right next to the bar!
