Sherbourne Park in Warwickshire was the setting for Jo & Daniel’s wedding. It’s a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian house set on an estate between Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon. It’s a perfect venue for a wedding as it leads directly in to the church yard of All Saints Church (where the ceremony was being held) through a gate at the back of the gardens.
Although it was October and the start of Autumn, the weather was nice and warm all day. When I first arrived in the morning, the sun seemed to be trying desperately to break through the hazy clouds but was unable to do so and it remained cloudy with some hazy sunshine all day, creating a beautiful diffused light for photos.
I started the day by having a wander around the gardens capturing some images to set the scene before popping into the house to see Jo. I expected the usual morning nerves from the bride but if Jo was nervous she was hiding it very well, as all I saw her excitement about the day ahead. In fact from when I arrived in the morning through to leaving in the evening, Jo seemed to always be smiling, laughing and genuinely having a great time!
As the journey to the church was just a short distance, I stayed with Jo and her bridesmaids capturing their walk across the gardens. All Saints Church was stunning and the service was in keeping with the rest of the day; fun and relaxed.
After the ceremony everyone walked back through to Sherbourne Park for a drinks reception and canapés outside in the gardens. This was followed by a few family group shots in front of the house before I took the couple off for some informal portraits around the gardens.
It was then time for the wedding breakfast, which was followed by some fantastic speeches as the daylight gradually disappeared. I photographed the cutting of the wedding cake and a few nighttime shots of Jo & Daniel before I left them to enjoy the rest of their night.
