Charlotte & Neil first got in touch with me last November asking if I was available for their August wedding in Trysull. Now I have to admit I hadn’t heard of Trysull at the time so had to look it up online. It turns out it’s a beautiful little village on the edge of Staffordshire, near Wolverhampton.
They wanted more natural photos of their wedding day without too much standing around posing so they could spend more time with their friends and family. This suited me perfectly so they went ahead and booked.
I usually start the day with bridal preparations but Charlotte wasn’t really fussed with these photos so on this occasion my day started by popping along to All Saints church to take a few scene setting photos whilst the sun was out in the morning, before heading down the road to Trysull Village Hall, where the reception was being held, to photograph the room details. I then returned to the church in time for guest arrivals.
Following a lovely service at the church, the guests left for the village hall giving me the opportunity to get a few relaxed couple shots with Charlotte & Neil at the church and the green nearby.
The weather was perfect! Hot, but not too hot, the morning had a few cloudy moments but the sun won the battle and shone all afternoon. Guests enjoyed ice creams from the ice cream van that Charlotte & Neil hired, along with a selection of ales, wines and of course… Pimm’s! There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere with everybody having a good time.
The meal was followed by some great speeches, the cutting of the wedding cake and all of the other cakes supplied by guests for the cake table. Before the first dance, there was time for the guests to go back outside and enjoy the remaining sunshine. I took this opportunity for a few quick sunset photos of Charlotte & Neil. Before leaving I made time to get a few final shots of the happy couple, lit up by the fairy lights outside and then left them to enjoy the rest of their night.
